Junior European Championships 2005

Katie Hamilton became the second diver in City of Sheffield's history to win a Junior European Medal when she finished 2nd on 3m in Electrostal, Russia (August 05).

Katie was joined in the final by Claire Blencowe who finished 5 points behind to take 6th - in a score that would have earned a medal last year.

Their campaign was opened by a 6th place finish in the Girls 3m Synchro, and was continued by Claire's 4th in Group B platform, and 4th and 6th by Katie and Claire respectively on 1m.

They were the only athletes in the British Team who dived more than one event and finished top 6th in all their events - a great achievement.

Next year, Claire moves up to group A, and Katie remains group B.
