Why do we do video analysis?

Diving happens so fast that we can miss detail in a dive. The difference between a good dive and a great dive can be very subtle, and improvements in technique can sometimes be measured in degrees.

We use video analysis - sometimes done by our coaches, and sometimes by professionals from EIS or Sheffield Hallam University, to measure frame-by-frame changes in a divers' action - this leads to improvement goals and allowsdivers to monitor progress.

Remember, you can see videos of your most recent test on the Videos page of this site

How this page works -

Click on your coach's name from the table above or below. If you've been filmed, and if there is any analysis information about you, there will be a link with your name. The information available to you will either video of some of your performances, or will be single-frames that you can use to compare against your ideal posture or action.

Videos will usually be in .avi format (Windows Media Player will run these), frames in .jpg format (pretty much any graphics package will read these). You may find playing videos smoother if you right-click on the filename, and choose 'save as' to save to your computer, and run from there.
